Sage's respiratory tube was finally removed at 3pm today....
According to Aunty Cindy...his expressions now looks like yoda...but his voice sounds like darth vader :p
here are the picsc

Sage is doing quite well today, supposed to have his respiratory tube removed at 1.30pm, at the moment not sure of the status of the tubes. Pictures were taken circa 1pm, as you can see, he's not as bloated as previously, and his rashes have also reduced.
When i was there he was quite responsive, crying when the nurses were taking blood from him...you can see him straining and moving due to the pain and his mouth were wide open but it was a sort of silent scream as he's unable to make any noise yet. He has one eye partly open , not very big but can see that he's alert, when he yawns you can see both eyes.
Blood sasmple was sent to KL yesterday via the Tan Family Courier express...according to aunty cindy, leucine level from the test was 1031 which is still high considering the normal values of 100....his next blood sample will be collected today, frozen, sent to the courier company tomorrow and expected to arrive in KL on thursday via the not so fast courier company. Hope to hear good news then.
Nurse said cannot take picture :p but the nurses attending sage and the doctor din't really care... will see whether i can sneak in tonight to take picture of him without that ugly huge green tube in his mouth.

middle of the night, the doctor ordered a blood tranfusion as Sage appeared not to be doing too well ...however in the morning, when they tried to do the tranfusion, they had difficulty as if i'm not mistaken the veins were giving problem...finally started tranfusion at 9.10am
sage appears to be quite puffed up today.....a result of lack of isoleucine and valine in the system, so the dr decides to pump up those quantities...constant vomitting has resulted in there being a feeding tube inserted directly into the intestines, bypassing the stomach...his body still has a high amount of water retention causing aunty cindy to remark that he looks like that scottish guy from austin powers 2 :p haha but no..he's never like that guy..he's too cute!!
gain bout 300 g over the past day but possibly that most of it is due to water retention. at this rate his weight should be about 3.6-4 kg if i'm not mistaken (dont have exact figure)
on the plus side, he's being more responsive to touches and he's having more unassisted breath although they haven't taken him off the respirator....he's yet to open his eyes since thursday morning...
he's also got a new buddy...Leo the leopard...haha most of the time Leo is put to 'work' supporting the weight of his master's hands or legs...
things look to be on the upswing...
